Meet your Counselor

Rozanne McCarty holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University, and a bachelor's degree in management and communication from Corban University.

My journey in mental health began with completing the Psychiatric Technician program at Santa Rosa Junior College in California. After earning my California Psychiatric Technician license, I spent 13 years providing compassionate care to individuals with a wide range of mental health needs. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit and reinforced my passion for helping others heal.

For the past five years, I have been dedicated to providing evidence-based counseling grounded in empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to each client's unique journey. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful, lasting change.

Philosophy

"Knowledge is the acquiring of facts,

understanding is the interpreting of facts,

wisdom is the application."

– Edwin Louis Cole

This philosophy underpins my approach to counseling: integrating knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to foster an environment of restoration.

Professional Experience

With several years of experience in community mental health, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals navigating a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, PTSD, and trauma. My counseling approach is grounded in compassion, respect, active listening, and collaboration. I believe therapy is most effective when we work together to build on your strengths, celebrate your progress, and develop a personalized plan that aligns with your goals.

Before becoming a mental health counselor, I spent 13 years as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, where I provided care for adults with complex mental health needs using positive behavioral interventions and motivational strategies. That experience continues to shape my therapeutic approach by providing a strong clinical foundation and a deep appreciation for each person's resilience and capacity for growth.

Life's challenges can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, affecting our confidence and making it difficult to recognize our own strengths and potential. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. I utilize a combination of evidence-based and scientific-based approaches, including Trauma-Informed Care, Brainspotting, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and mindfulness-based interventions, to help clients develop practical coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Whether you're working through a specific challenge or seeking greater balance and well-being, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, hope, and restoration.
